Leslie Ballard is a first-year veterinary student at Cornell University. Originally hailing from Albuquerque, NM, Leslie has made her home in the great state of New York since 2003. After a brief stint in the world of academic publishing, she decided to return to school, obtaining an A.S. in Veterinary Technology and B.S. in Biology from Medaille College in 2017. While in school she worked variously as a kennel attendant for teaching animals, a laboratory animal caretaker, and a chemistry tutor, while gaining veterinary experience as a surgical volunteer for the SPCA serving Erie County. She currently lives in Ithaca with her two cats, Victoria and Simpson, her ball python, Pablo, and her step-cat, Gwen.
