Dr. Elizabeth Barnes received her veterinary degree from University of Illinois. She completed an internship in Ambulatory (Farm Animal) Medicine and Surgery at Cornell Veterinary Hospital 1 year later. After several years in dairy and mixed animal practice, a move back to her home state of Illinois and return to our beautiful Finger Lakes area – she now practices small animal surgery and medicine at Veterinary Care of Ithaca and working with Shelter Outreach Services. Dr. Barnes lives in southern Cayuga County with her dairy farmer husband. She spends her free time with her varied menagerie of pathologically friendly pet animals and also gardening, biking and traveling.
